Ride the Vibe
Eesti People to People is partner in the EU-funded project “Ride the Vibe” – LiveMX call – coordinated by Dürer-part Kft. From Hungary. This one year project started on May 1, 2025.
The project aims to respond to the challenges of music clubs located far from urban centers and difficult to reach by public transportation. These places are largely visited by motor vehicles, which have one of the greatest environmental footprint. Strengthening cycling culture within European music clubs offers a multitude of benefits that extend beyond mere transportation. It fosters a greener and healthier environment by reducing carbon emissions and promoting active lifestyles among music enthusiasts. Moreover, it improves accessibility to music venues, particularly those located in less central areas, enabling a wider audience to enjoy cultural experiences. This inclusivity can lead to increased attendance, supporting the financial viability of music clubs.
Main objectives
-
Increase attendance: Attract a wider audience by making it easier and more appealing for people to reach our venue. Promote sustainability: Encourage eco-friendly transportation choices and reduce the carbon footprint associated with attending our events. The project aims to reduce the number of people arriving by car. The project also support the objectives of the European Green Deal.
-
Foster community: Build a sense of community among cyclists and music lovers, creating a unique and engaging experience.
-
Mobilise youth workers and organisations for inclusive societies through participatory methods and technology.
-
Support healthy lifestyles: Promote active transportation and contribute to the well-being of our visitors.
Project Activities
-
Cross-sectoral roundtables: The proposed events seek to create an interdisciplinary platform where professionals from the music and cycling industries can engage in a constructive dialogue on the integration of cycling-based developments within the context of music venues and clubs. By bringing together representatives from both sectors, the events will foster an exchange of insights, expertise, and innovative ideas concerning the growing trend of incorporating cycling culture into culturalspaces. The aim is to foster collaborative thinking and ignite innovation around the evolving role of cycling in enhancing the music club experience.
-
Pedal to Music: a European bike event on September 7, 2025 in Hungary. The event will be a grand celebration of music and cycling, featuring a joint cycling parade from the city to the music club, concerts, a bicycle beauty contest, family-friendly activities, and professional forums with European experts (music and bike industry).
-
Guide Development: Strengthening cycling culture in European music clubs A key objective of this activity is to ensure its success can be replicated and scaled by other European music clubs and communities in Europe. The Guide will include:
Case studies of successful European initiatives integrating music and cycling, detailing their implementation strategies, outcomes, and lessons learned.
Recommendations for overcoming common challenges and ensuring effective collaboration between diverse sectors.
Templates and tools that can be adapted and utilized by other organizations embarking on similar projects (e.g.: special marketing tools, targeted promotions, partnerships with the bike industry, join to bike sharing initiatives, etc).
This guide will serve as a valuable resource for music clubs across Europe, empowering them to leverage the power of music and cycling to enhance accessibility, promote sustainable mobility, and cultivate vibrant cultural experiences. The guide will be disseminated mainly in European countries where cycling culture is less developed yet.
