2022-2024

Destinations: Portugal, Italy, Turkey, Estonia, Croatia

About the Project

"Craftsmen and Artisan Digital Empowerment and Upskilling in Xmas Market" is an Erasmus+ strategic partnership project (2022-1-PT01-KA220-VET-000086009) that aims to combine the revival of Christmas European great traditions in craftsmanship with fostering digital readiness and making craftsmen ready to answer for the new labor market needs and challenges.

Objectives

This cooperation partnership aims to make the Christmas traditional art market more attractive and digitally inclusive for youngsters, unemployed people, migrants and NEETs (Not in Education, Employment, or Training) by creating new and diverse job opportunities to become digital artisans (makers) capable of finding new segments of the market.

The project focuses on reinforcing digital competencies for young people who are approaching this sector and training low digitally skilled artisans in digital world management to promote their Christmas creations by themselves.

Activities

All project deliverables and activities (manual, training/learning materials, website and digital tools) and training activities (Learning/Teaching/Training Activities and local pilot training courses) are designed to enhance digital skills and market reach for artisans.

The project implements monitoring, dissemination, and quality control activities throughout its duration to ensure effective implementation and maximum impact.

Results and Impact

The project has developed several key outputs:

  1. Christmas Digital Marketing Manual: This guide includes two types of instructions and practical information on how to develop an online business, selecting the available tools and communication channels.

  2. Pilot Training Courses: These courses aim at enhancing business, creativity, and digital readiness for artisans by applying the resources created through the Christmas Digital Market Manual for craftsmanship.

  3. E-Book: A comprehensive resource that compiles the knowledge, methodologies, and best practices developed throughout the project.

The project's impact extends beyond the participating organizations to benefit the wider community of artisans and craftspeople across Europe, particularly those working in traditional Christmas markets and crafts. By bridging traditional craftsmanship with digital skills, the project helps preserve cultural heritage while making it economically sustainable in the digital age.
