Build it together
„Build it together“ is CERV-AG-LS project No: 101136806 in the frame of Citizens, Equality,Rights and Values Programme (CERV-2023-CITIZENS-TOWN-NT).
Duration of the project is 24 months (January 2024 - December 2025).
The project will aim at promoting awareness and building knowledge of EU citizenship rights and associated European common values and common democratic standards through building knowledge and sharing best practices on the benefits of diversity, as well as effective measures on how to tackle discrimination and racism at the local level.
As part of the project idea we will focus at targeting the older generation and youths through focusing our activities in sharing good practices which assist in citizens better understanding each other and promoting integration and understanding the differences in cities through two common mediums which are through storytelling: the collection of stories as said and witnessed by citizens through their life and the second medium would be through the use of home cooking which although diverse according to customs and traditions have common factors, ingredients which implicate that although different we share commonalities among us.
Through the project, we would also address the barriers between older people and youth addressing the perceptions and misconceptions of youth as wastrels, hanging out causing problems, where older people have a fear of interaction with youth based on media portrayals.
The „Build it together“ project will focus on two priority areas, namely:
-
Promoting awareness and building knowledge of EU citizenship rights and associated European common values and common democratic standards through 2 mediums by using storytelling and food as the 2 subjects, which will assist partners in identifying European common values and understanding.
-
Promoting awareness, building knowledge and sharing best practice on the benefits of diversity as well as effective measures on how to tackle discrimination and racism at local level; through the planned activities we shall highlight the diversity but also the commonalities existing between different regions, countries and communities which brings out the understanding of each other and removing the barriers of discrimination in society.
